Helps you reset the forgotten password of an SQL Server user account. Systools SQL Password Recovery is a really light and handy software program designed for those professionals or companies that work with SQL Server databases. It assists SQL Server users to recover access to their account quickly whenever they forget or lose their password. When it comes to password recovery, very few programs turn out to be as easy to use as this one.

The program's user interface could not be simpler and more intuitive. It asks you to look for the "master.mdf" file, which is the general user database of an SQL Server engine. However, note that it requires the SQL service to be switched off before using this program, as it will edit and make changes to the "master.mdf" file. Once the file has been located, the program analyzes it and displays a list of the usernames present there. It also tells you the password assigned to each user when available – all that remains to do is to select the desired user and press the "Reset" button to proceed.

Before the password is actually reset, you will receive a warning from the program telling you to back up the "master.mdf" file. Of course, it is highly recommended to do so right away. Finally, the program will confirm that the password has been reset, and the user will be allowed to log in again without typing any password.

As it can be seen, this program is very practical and simple. However, its price may appear to be too high for such a specific function. It is compatible with all Windows and SQL Server versions available nowadays, including Windows 7 and SQL Server 2008.
